Friday, June 23 - ENDURO & CRESTED BUTTE DEVO MOVIE NIGHT
We are excited to share that the 2023 Junior Bike Week Enduro will be held at Crested Butte Mountain Resort!  We will announce this stage on Monday, June 12 on our Instagram @Junior_Bike_Week and Facebook @JuniorBikeWeek pages as well as the Junior Bike Week Team App.

PLEASE VISIT THE SCHEDULE PAGE AT JUNIORBIKEWEEK.COM FOR ALL LOGISTICAL DETAILS!!  BE SURE TO REQUEST TO JOIN THE JUNIOR BIKE WEEK TEAM APP FOR FESTIVAL UPDATES, INCLUDING ENDURO STAGE COURSE INFO.

PRELIMINARY EVENT DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
    • Course will be marked before 3 pm on Wednesday, June 21 with stage announcements on Monday, June 12. If you are not familiar with the trails, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that ALL COMPETITORS pre-ride before race day. We also STRONGLY RECOMMEND knee pads, gloves, and a lightweight Enduro specific full face helmet or similar. Helmets ARE REQUIRED on the pedal transfer.

    • There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION for the Enduro Stage! Online registration closes at 5 pm on Friday, June 16 so we have plenty of time to get start lists race ready. If you missed the early rider check-in on Thursday evening, please come to the event tent, located in the Crested Butte Community School soccer field, at 8 am to grab your race plate.

    • 8 am - 1 pm: Enduro stage race for all categories, courses will be announced on Monday, June 12. We are extremely stoked to once again include a gravity component during the 2023 Junior Bike Week festival!! This will be the first event of the Junior Bike Week Triple Crown Championships which will combine results in gravity, pump track, and cross-country disciplines. This competition has been a HUGE success since its debut in 2021 and we’re stoked to bring it back in 2023!

    • 9 am: COMMENCAL will have youth and adult demo bikes available at the base area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. These bikes can be ridden after the race stage, but CANNOT be used for racing.

    • 8 am - 9 am: Athlete Check-In; see details below:

      • Race fee for all categories is $60/participant (before June 1, 2023; price increases to $80/participant on this date) and includes participant entry to the Kick Off Party, food voucher for Peaks ‘n Pitas valued at $15 (Enduro + Junior Wildflower Classic racers), exceptional course marking & marshals, medical response, custom race plate with chip timing, and your choice of a pair of custom Junior Bike Week socks or a Junior Bike Week mesh Snapback hat. Registration and race fee must be completed/paid online where you will submit an electronic waiver for all Junior Bike Week events.

      • If your rider plans to compete in the Junior Bike Week Triple Crown Championships, simply select “Yes” for the question “Will you be participating in the Triple Crown Championships?” when you complete registration for any of the three Triple Crown Championships events and we’ll put him/her on the list.

    • 9 am: Riders depart Junior Bike Week HQ for pedal transfer, with their assigned SWEEPS, to race start. Categories will make this transfer together and we will start with 17-18, followed by 15-16, 13-14, 11-12, and 8-10. Riders in the 8-10 category will get a van shuttle bump to the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area where they will start their transfer. Parents and sweeps will pedal up the Rec Path and meet vans at the base area. Riders will compete in their respective age-group based on their official racing age determined on December 31, 2023. This is consistent with USA Cycling and we hope this alleviates some confusion for those who participate in USAC events. If you register for the wrong category, your child will automatically be placed in his/her correct race category without notice.

    • Eight-year-olds racing in the 8-10 age category MUST have an adult with them for safety concerns, NO EXCEPTIONS! The minimum racer age for this event is eight-years-old, again, NO EXCEPTIONS, please. In the interest of rider safety and risk management, we made the difficult decision to eliminate backcountry racing for younger riders. We will have a “friendly” Pump Track Challenge category for younger riders on Saturday.

    • Race categories for the Enduro event will be the same as the Pump Track Challenge and Junior Wildflower Classic XC races to keep things consistent for the Triple Crown Championships. These categories are 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18. There will be awards for the top-3 finishers in each category for male and female participants. Awards for this race will be held at the Junior Bike Week event tent located at the Crested Butte Community School soccer field (818 Red Lady Avenue) at approximately 1 pm. We’ll keep you updated on our timing on the Junior Bike Week Team App.

Crested Butte is anticipating a summer with even more labor shortages in our small town. This, paired with recent restaurant closures, is why we are excited to offer food vending with Peaks 'n Pitas, Fruita Mountain Berry Bowls, and our CB Devo High School Race Team BBQ fundraiser on both Friday and Saturday.  Additionally, please consider bringing your own food, or hitting the grocery store, if you would like to have quick access to breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Junior Bike Week strives to be a PLANET FRIENDLY EVENT.  All of our disposable plates and cups will be compostable with several recycling bins throughout the venue.  PLEASE keep trash with the trash and not mixed with the recycling.  We are providing Junior Bike Week Silipints for the first 200 attendees at our Kick Off Party to keep as much trash out of landfill as possible.

    • 11:30 am - 4:30 pm: Peaks ‘n Pitas and Fruita Mountain Berry Bowls are open for food vending in the Junior Bike Week Vendor Village.

    • Noon - 2 pm: The CB Devo High School Race Team will be hosting a KILLER BBQ lunch for just $17 at the Junior Bike Week Vendor Village. Plate includes a Parker Pastures grassfed burger, Mulay brat, organic hot dog, or Garden Burger + bag of chips + cookie + drink.

    • The Junior Bike Week Enduro is operating under a Special Use Permit on the GMUG National Forest and is an equal opportunity service provider.

    • Please visit our event registration page to get registered for all Junior Bike Week races, clinics, and to make camping reservations.

After the racing, please join us for…
